How to change permission for a document in Microsoft SharePoint Server?

Step1: If you have any document library in your SharePoint site open the document library by clicking on that document library link.

Step2: If you don’t find document library, create by clicking on site settings -> create.

Step3: Make sure at least one document library item available in your library.

Step4: If you have edit permissions, you will get one dropdown arrow, when you click on that arrow you will get a menu bar with the option ‘Manage Permission’, click on ‘Manage Permission’

Step5: select the user to change permission, update his permissions for the document item you selected. that’s it… you learned how to change permission for a document in Microsoft SharePoint Server.
